I was doing Chinese calligraphy for J's martial arts school. I mess up a lot, and I certainly idolize people who can just DO IT with full on confidence.
Some of those cards that I sent to my friends. They are sort of like one panel comics....
Making snowman is just not going to happen at where I live at the moment.
And this is about Edmonton.... the weather that I have missed.
And this is where I lived.
(Sorry about too much weather talk.)

So here are the sketches I did during the trip to Hong Kong. They aren't of superb quality, but they are just proofs of where I have been in my journey.

One of those things that frustrates me to no end in Hong Kong, is that I couldn't stay in one location for too long. Standing in the middle of the street is as awkward as trying to stop someone from walking past you. The only way of stopping somewhere would be going to a restaurant and eat, but the high speed efficiency of Hong Kong people would mean you get your food in one minute, no kidding. And it's not even fast food. If you take longer than 20 minutes to eat it, the waiters would start glaring to hope that you leave soon for the next customer. So it was one high speed chase after another. Well, unless of course, if I was willing to pay inflated price of Starbucks coffees. They are at least twice the price of what they are in Canada.
I think what I draw is heavier on the story telling side (usually), so after seeing a friend draw something on the other spectrum, I tried his method of drawing with a different approach. I can't quite comprehend what I got there. And don't you love that drop of ink in the middle of it? It sipped through the pages!

Just something that I sent out with a letter that I thought I'd post here.

Just out of the blue, I am suddenly not in Canada right now! I went to Hong Kong a while ago. It has been four years since I have last been here! It is like an extension of Summer, it's above 25 degrees everyday. I miss the freezing Canadian winter and the snow!
There are lots of buildings in Hong Kong. The concept of high rise is probably different from high rise in Canada. The average height of a building is about 20-some floors, a commercial building goes up to 100 floors. It's very crowded everywhere (it's number four in population density in the world according to wikipedia.) I wonder how I survived in here, but I guess people adapt pretty easily...
I'm doing a lot of sketches of buildings and stuff, the cellphone camera is not doing a good job at taking pictures of them. I likely won't be updating this blog much...

This week's topic is germs... I immediately thought of the grandma germaphobe on the bus who usually hold on to things with a tissue in hand, who one day threw a coffee cup at me on the bus when I was sleeping. What a daring move... thankfully that coffee cup was empty.
The picture looks like a slaughter happened. haha
Although I think exposure to germs won't kill. The fact that our environment is too clean probably kills us more since we don't develop immunity toward germs.
